Happy Memorial Day

After eating the first few hotdogs, we realized they had removable plastic wrappings. The second batch was much easier to chew.

Teachers' Day

To ensure that we the pedagogical workforce of Korea do not forget how incredibly awesome we are, we celebrate Teachers' Day. This is the day when students express their gratitude for the remarkable education they have received. English class provides a particularly unique opportunity for them to express their thanks through the application of their classwork. See below.

In case you wondered, a teacher's attractiveness seems to be a point of tremendous significance for Koreans. Both Lewis and I have been assured repeatedly that we are, in fact, quite handsome. Amidst the teachers and students (from our respective schools) who've seen us both I've heard the debate still wages as to who is more handsome. Regardless of that outcome, this seems to be a definite amelioration of "who is less repulsive."

Lest you worry yourselves about the vanity of Lewis and myself, fear not. We each received a cold reality check last week when my co-teacher matter-of-factly stated that my face looked very similar to an egg whereas Lewis's more closely resembled a donkey.
